How do I know if my membership is current and my CAS records are current?
You can check your status at the USTA website in the Members section.
I would like to help the CA Baton Council. Do you have fundraisers?
eScrip is a great help and doesn’t cost you an extra cent. Many merchants will donate a small amount of your purchase price to the council. Check out our eScrip page.
What is USTA and why must I join?
The United States Twirling Association is the parent organization for the CA Baton Council. They establish the basic structure, guidelines, rules, and insurance that are used at our contests. All contest judges and athletes must be current members of the USTA if they want to participate in the contests. The contest year begins on September 1st of the year. Member for a Day memberships are available, but if an athlete participates in more than one contest per year, that is a waste of money. Member for a Day cannot be used for the National Championships. Membership rates are lower before Dember 1st so it pays to renew early. Membership can be purchased online or by mail. For more information, contact the USTA.
Where and when does the California Baton Council Meet?
Generally, the Board meets four times per year: November, March, June, and August. The March and August meetings are open to all CA Baton Council members. Frequently, the meetings are scheduled after a contest. The dates, times, and locations of those meetings will be posted in the Contest Schedule.
How can I join the California Baton Council?
While joining the CA Baton Council is not required, it gives you the opportunity to vote for Board Members and take a greater part in the sport. All members of the council must also be members of USTA. There is more information on the Membership page.
At the Parents’ Information Page. There you can learn about all the different kinds of contests, events, and other information that new parents might be interested in. There are also links to articles on contest etiquette, filling out entry forms, and selecting your child’s twirling level.
Where do I find contest entry forms?
The Contest Entry Forms and Information Page has printable forms for regular CBC Contests, the California State Championships, and the USTA Western Regional Championships? You can go to the USTA website for USTA National Championship, Pre-Trials, and U.S. Trials Entry Forms.
