September “All-in” Virtual Critiques

How does this work?
Athletes will have a confirmed 15-minute time slot or more on Zoom on Saturday or Sunday September 25th-26th, 2021.
A Zoom link will be provided, and athlete will log in at designated time being placed in the waiting room.
Official USTA Judge will welcome athlete to Zoom room.
Athlete may perform their routines in order of their choosing and will play music from their own sound system for best quality.
Official USTA Judge will provide immediate feedback on all events for competitive events. Video submissions with receive written comments.

START TIME: 9:00 a.m.

ORDER OF EVENTS (subject to change): Model (no interview), Basic Strut,
X-Strut, Pairs, 2-Baton, 3-Baton, Solo Twirl, Rhythmic Twirl. The set system will begin with Basic
Strut. Athletes 12 and under will begin competition at 9:00a, followed by open USTA events (all
ages), with 13+ beginning approx. 1:00p
QUALIFICATIONS/TIME LIMITS: NBTA Rules apply, and official USTA music will be used for the respective portions of the competition.
AGE DIVISIONS: Individual events: 0-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-15, 16+. Pairs (sum of ages); 0-18, 19-24, 25–30, 31+.
DIVISION LEVELS: Novice, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.
First Time Twirl: Open only to those entering solo twirl for the 1st time ever.
Special Novice Twirl: Open only to those who have not won a 1st in Special Novice or 1st in a higher division.
Novice Events: Open only to those who have not won 5 firsts in Novice or 1st in a higher division.
Beginner Events: Open only to those who have not won 5 firsts in Beginner or 1st in a higher division.
Intermediate Events: Open to those who have not won 8 firsts in Intermediate or 1st in a higher division.
Rhythmic Twirl: Open to Advanced Twirl contestants only, ages 7-9, 10-12, 13-15, 16+.
Rating lanes: Available upon request on day of contest ($5.00). Must enter like event.
USTA EVENTS OFFERED: Solo One Baton, 2-Baton, 3-Baton, Strut, Artistic Twirl, Artistic Twirl Pairs and Freestyle
FAMILY PLAN: SCBBA members in good standing with more than one twirler may pay ½ of lesser entry.
AWARDS: Awards will be determined based on number of contest entries received.

Good Day California’s Athletes, Coaches, Professionals, Families & Sponsors,
We are excited to welcome you all to the 2021-2022 baton twirling season. As we break through this Delta variant, we are developing a calendar of events for our athletes, coaches, professionals and families. Our theme for the 2021-2022 Baton Twirling Season is the quote, One Choice by Marcy Blochosiak, “You are always One Choice away from changing your life.”
Please check the California Baton Council website and the California Baton Council FB page for up-to-date information. There are baton twirling events the CBC have already scheduled for the next three months, including back by popular demand ALL-IN Critiques via ZOOM or video, in-person CAS meets in the Sacramento area and the Bay area, an October Competition in Southern California. For athletes wanting to compete in NBTA, their State Championships are in November in Southern California. There are also traveling opportunities for athletes, coaches and professionals out of the state of California beginning in October.
We look forward to hearing from all of you as to what value the California Baton Council Board of Directors may bring to you and your twirling neighbors.
